Burial of an Era

Biography

Burial of an Era is a Technical Death Metal band from Madison, Wisconsin.

Burial of an Era formed in the winter of 2001 when guitarists Peter Rebholz and David Natvig met and quickly started writing songs. In February of 2002, drummer Brian Loomis, whom David played in a previous band, joined and the three have been the core of the group ever since. Burial of an Era plays brutal death metal with blend of melody, speed, technicality and emotion. Their music has heavy influences from American and Scandinavian death and black metal, such as Suffocation, Monstrosity, Nile, Origin, Theory in Practice, Emperor and Dimmu Borgir.

From 2003 to 2006, the band started playing local and regional venues across Wisconsin and Illinois with Peter and David doing vocals with the addition of bassist Bryan Marks, previously of Halcyon in February 2004. After a four-year hiatus from winter of 2006 to winter of 2010, Burial of an Era started working on new material and playing shows in southern Wisconsin. In early 2014, Zach Leiterman joined the band to perform vocals.
